Let's start a revolution!

I have always loved the above video produced by Steve Jobs when he released the Macintosh computer for the first time. He often said, "We are going to revolutionize an entire industry." And that's exactly what he did-every time.

In education today, we also need a revolution. I'm a certified teacher who taught in the public schools for almost 2 decades. I have 3 degrees and most of a master's in Counseling Psychology. Most of my family is also formally educated. And my parents were about the BEST teachers ever. But today we live in a different world (especially after the "pandemic" hoax), and the people who have been running education have not always had the best intentions.

What we need is an alternative. For many,  that means Homeschool or private school. But the "school choice" movement has come under criticism and many parents are discouraged.

Some parents also have kids with special needs who need specialized instruction or methods that appeal to this kind of learner. And many kids just don't do well with subjects they don't like and that they feel will not benefit them in the long run.

And though I am formally educated (3 degrees, including most of a master's in Counseling Psychology), in our world today, we need serious change.

Our President agrees with this, as is evidenced in this video:-------------->

REALITY CHECK

I've been amazed at the number of people I've heard talk about how schools don't talk to kids about their future careers until highschool! That's too late, folks! They need to plan for their future in ELEMENTARY school. Both schools I recently worked with DID this and it paid off. My father who was curriculum supervisor of the same district I worked with for many years, also focused on future careers and "dream sheets" that kids would fill out and talk about around middle school age or younger. We did this in Special Ed when I taught there and they were called "Transition Plans" and we would follow up on these each year at annual reviews.

Much of what we did in the SPED classroom can and should be used with regular students when we find they are struggling with the current curriculum or need to be more focused and grounded.

I don't have all the answers, but I know alot that may be able to help parents focus on what is most important and use techniques that are tried and proven in the classroom setting.

I'm not trying to be "the sage on the stage." BUT....I can be your "guide on the side." I'll be offering 30-minute phone consultations with me for $49 on a topic of your choice. I'll have more about this later. And you'll be able to sign up here or on the main Small Town Global

I am furiously working on homeschool modules. I use creative tools, media, Fine Arts, and technology to create engaging materials that you'll be able to download right here on this site soon. I also have formal lessons they can try with your guidance. Stay tuned for more soon!

I'm very excited to be able to use my many years of training and experience to help you succeed with your homeschool plans. If you want to sign up for a time now for a homeschool consultation, go here: Homeschool Consultation
